Introduction to this book

I have been collecting Rugby League Cards for as long as I can remember. During my Primary school years I would spend my lunch money on cards and by the time I returned home in the afternoon I would be famished. When I was in high school a fellow student would bring in a handful of his fathers collection and I would pay him $2 a day for those. From here my collection began to grow and I remember how hard it was to try and work out which set came from which year, remembering this is a long time before the internet was developed. Now my wife and I run our family business Dan’s NRL Collectables, specialsing in Rugby League Trading Cards.

A checklist of as many known Rugby League Card sets has been listed herein. Even though years of research have gone into the development of this publication there would be sets which have been missed. If you can provide further information about cards which are not listed please contact dansnrl@bigpond.com

I have deliberately not put dollar values next to the cards because in my view it detracts from the true value which is the joy of card collecting. Above all, remember that collecting Rugby League Cards is meant to be fun, a hobby and something to enjoy. All images have been taken from my collection.
